This programme is designed for individual primary health practitioners within Aotearoa NZ who are working as a General Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse or Community Pharmacist.
The Clinical Connect Online model is based on best practice principles of adult learning – providing time and space for reflection, discussion, and considering how new knowledge relates to our own practice. Clinicians find Clinical Connect sessions impactful, engaging, and supportive allowing for confidential and sometimes challenging discussions about our practice.
The programme runs exclusively online and covers 5 topics across a 12-month period. We are now recruiting for our next group – groups are intentionally small and include up to 18 clinicians
You will receive:
- 5 x Clinical Connect Online meetings over 12 months
- Each meeting is 1.5 hours and supporting resources, handouts and pre-reading are supplied via our online learning platform
- Clinical Connect Peer Education meets professional development requirements for the following professional bodies: RNZCGP (all competency domains), NCNZ, PCNZ (MyRecert programme).

The programme provides clinical education for primary health care clinicians on topics that are engaging, relevant and strategically important to the wider Aotearoa NZ health system. Topics are independently researched and developed for the primary care workforce, supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver better patient care.
Small Groups are made up of 12-15 primary health practitioners. The trained Group Leader supports the group to korero/discuss the topic and reflect on their practice with case-based examples. Small groups are set up, so the same group of individuals meet each time, this provides a network of support and allows for trusted, open conversations and learning.
Groups are set up based on receiving the right number of registrations to create a group. Groups are multidisciplinary and will include clinicians from across Aotearoa NZ. When we have a minimum of 15 group members, we will then set up a group and confirm your space and group details.
We can set up a region-specific group – contact us for details on group pricing which is available for over 15 participants.
We know from our 30 years of experience that there are huge benefits to improving our clinical practice from connecting regularly with peers. This is why we only offer the subscription in 12 month/ 5 topic blocks.
Te Rau Ako is the Pegasus Health online learning platform, this is where you will access the resources (pre-reading, handouts, etc.) for your Clinical Connect meetings.
For each topic a pre-reading with background information and the latest evidence is provided. This usually takes around one hour to read. By reading this in advance of your session you are well prepared to engage in discussion with your peers maximising the value and impact of the learning on your own practice.
You will have the ability to complete a self-directed ‘catch-up’ if you are unable to attend one of your Clinical Connect meetings.
Yes, Clinical Connect Online is run via Zoom. you will need to have a Zoom account to attend.
